Found in the Woods, Selected for Monochromica—Issue 012

I’m pleased to share that my fine art photograph Forgotten has been accepted into Issue 012 of Monochromica, The Journal of Monochrome Art, with the theme Black / White / Gray.

This photograph began with something small: tiny broken pieces of pottery at an old homestead in the middle of the woods.

I gently moved the moss to get a closer look, then marked the spot and went to get my camera. Those fragments were worth coming back for.

I don’t know whose hands once held that pottery or the whole story of how it came to rest there. What caught my attention was what remained: a small trace of a life once lived in a place the woods have slowly reclaimed.

That’s often where my art begins. Something catches my eye, I look closer, and what might otherwise go unnoticed becomes the subject.

Monochromica shares its curated issues with gallery owners, design professionals, and art collectors. I’mexcited that this quiet discovery from the Appalachian woods will reach new eyes through its pages.
