You Don’t Have to Be Falling Apart to Need a Reset

You Don’t Have to Be Falling Apart to Need a Reset

We tend to wait until something is wrong.

Until we’re exhausted. Overwhelmed. Stuck. Until something in our life has become uncomfortable enough that we finally decide we need to do something about it.

But I don’t believe we have to wait that long.

Sometimes nothing is particularly wrong.

Life is moving along. You’re doing what needs to be done. You’re showing up for the people you love. You’re handling your responsibilities.

And still, something feels like it could use a little clearing.

I think we accumulate things as we move through life.

Stress. Other people’s expectations. Old emotions. Experiences we thought we were finished with. The energy of places we’ve been and people we’ve spent time around.

Not everything we carry announces itself as a problem.

Sometimes it simply starts to feel like heaviness.

Or maybe you notice that you’ve been standing in the same place for a while. You’re ready for something different, but you can’t quite seem to move toward it.

That doesn’t always mean you need to try harder.

Sometimes you need to put something down.

That is one of the reasons I love energy work.

For me, it isn’t about fixing someone. And it certainly isn’t reserved for moments when life has fallen apart.

Sometimes it’s simply about making room.

Room to breathe.

Room to hear yourself again.

Room for your own energy to feel like your own.

Room for whatever comes next.

We understand this instinctively in so many other areas of our lives. We clean out closets before a new season. We open windows and let fresh air through the house. We clear old things from our gardens so something new has room to grow.

Maybe we’re allowed to do the same thing for ourselves.

You don’t have to wait until you’re struggling.

You don’t have to have a dramatic reason.

Sometimes you can simply know:

I’m ready to clear some things out. I’m ready to move forward.

And that is reason enough.
